Silly Season: The Best and Worst


I don’t know about you guys, but I love transfer rumors. Maybe it is because the winter mercato is a time for serious people to go completely crazy and talk a lot of rubbish, or maybe it’s because I love to see who we’re being linked with. Most of those players will never come to a team like Palermo, but from time to time we still manage to get a gem. With names like Maxi Lopez, Massimo Donati and Uruguayan striker Emiliano Alfaro being thrown around to possibly strengthen/weaken US Palermo for the remainder of the season, here’s a Top 5 and a Flop 5 looking at the January transfer windows since we returned to Serie A. I’ve left out loan deals, since (most of the time) we didn’t pay to see guys like Paolucci and Giacomazzi stink things up…
